3 Great Intros To Play On Your ‘Ukulele

In the early days of my playing I was guilty of learning only parts of songs. This was due to a short attention span and zero interest in singing. So I had an arsenal of twenty intros I could play, but no songs I could even really strum all the way through. I’m remembering this as a bad thing. I certainly wouldn’t recommend it. Learn the WHOLE song whenever possible.

That said, intros are fun! They often capture the whole feel of a song and are the most recognizable part. So against my better judgement, here are seven classic intros from tabs that I’ve created over the years.

EDIT: A DMCA copyright complaint reduced the size of this list considerably.

King Without A Crown By Matisyahu
Guaranteed to get any reggae fan whooping by the 3rd measure, this mellow intro from everyone’s favorite Jewish reggae artist is great practice for working across skipped strings.
Honey Baby By 3 Plus
This is a contemporary Hawaiian staple and the only actual ‘ukulele intro on this list. Great picking, great chord progression.
Put A Little Love By Natural Vibrations
One of my favorite local reggae/Jawaiian tunes that I always love to rip the intro on.

Thanks! I like these . . . but I don’t know what you mean by “strum pattern: DUX D”. I’ll have to look that up.
