Chords for Julia Nunes’ Love

I have had requests for this song from several people including Richard Gillmann who has sent me plenty of traffic from his “Free ‘ukulele tabs page”.

Julia Nunes tunes her ‘ukulele up a half step from what I can tell in her Youtube video. Click on the link below to see the chords.

Hey that’s great! I play the melodica, too – now if I can only figure how to switch smoothly from one instrument to the other live. Thank you!

So it says tune up by a half step. Afterwards do you finger the chords as normal? In other words, the first chord on the sheet is an “F”. Do you still play this with standard “F” chord fingering? (G string 2nd fret; E string 1st fret)? I ask, because on the video it looks like she is playing some chords I don’t see on the sheet.

Yes, you just play the same shapes. Tuning up makes it easier to get the same pitch without having to play the whole song in F#. She might be playing extension chords in the video. If I remember right she was moving some notes around a bit to get different sounds. I like to keep my sheets as simple as possible to keep them accessible to all levels of players.
