I kind of had the article on chops hidden (oops!). Now it is on the Strumming page, which should make it easier to find. 

That should clear things up for you. If you still can&#039;t get it, see if you can find some young people who do lots of reggae to play with. They may not be very good overall, but the chop strum goes with reggae. Period.

As for the &quot;IZ&quot; thing. That is usually achieved just by lifting your left hand fingers off the strings enough for them to stop ringing.
