Over the Rainbow and Ehu Girl Charts

I received a tab of Somewhere Over the Rainbow from Glenn Reither this morning. It’s a somewhat simple arrangement, but “simple” is relative because of the jazz chords. Thanks Glenn!

The youth I teach wanted to learn Ehu Girl (it’s the I’m Yours of Hawai’i …now that everyone is tired of I’m Yours) so I made a song sheet with a tab for the sax intro. Just FYI – this will get stuck in your head.

Just came across your site, I have obviously been missing out!

Would you consider putting an mp3 of you playing your tabs or a midi preview? II mean just in general, not only this post. It is kind of hard to pick up for a noob when you don’t know exactly what it should sound like.

      Hi Jon,

I have thought of it. But what I keep coming back to is that 99% of the songs on this site have been recorded. Especially the Hawaiian artists depend on those record sales as part of their income. I know if I recorded these songs it would just be a cover, but I still think it’s best to get the record/MP3 and hear the song like it was originally intended. Plus, a MIDI file has no soul! It’s one thing for me to provide tabs when there are none publicly available, but I think providing music too is a bit much. I wouldn’t want to put in all the effort and then get busted like all of the guys on Youtube. Hopefully you see where I’m coming from. Any other lesson requests or suggestions would be appreciated. You hit on one of the only things I wouldn’t want to do on the site! Thanks for the comment,

      Brad
