Tarantella Napoletana – Tab

I get a wide variety of song requests from my students and they never cease to surprise me. Here’s a tune that I’ve heard many places without knowing it by name. Tarantella Napoletana is a traditional Italian song in 6/8. The original tab I did was for my go-to low G tuning in which the song was played across the strings and stayed in the open position. For high g players I moved it up an octave into the higher frets.

Can’t you just hear the accordion?

All the versions I see are from John King’s book. Here’s one for kicks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p3tQSdaeEjQ. My tab is just the plain melody, not the fancy solo arrangement. For that I recommend John King’s book! :-)

It’s been a long time since I want to start to learn how to play this music instrument. I just love the sound! After seeing your link I’m positive I want to do it. Can I buy any ukulele or should I spend a bit more and get something better? I’m planning to learn on my own from home. Is it possible?
    Thank you

I’d buy something of at least the quality a Kala or Lanikai could provide. You don’t want to get frustrated by a cheap ‘ukulele, but I also would not go spend $1000 on your first ‘ukulele.
