Every once in a while I’ll get a wild hair and write my version of an op-ed for Live ‘Ukulele. It’s usually a bunch of observations I draw attention to – an assembly of suggestions or ideas, if you will – that I have come to realize the value of. Earlier in the year was one of those times. It was probably a late, boring night at the dorm during which, instead of laughing at fail videos with the roomie, I decided I had something to share. Whether I did or not is up to you, but here’s what I started writing back in April and stuck in the “drafts” bin until now when I felt like finishing it up.
This third episode of my “Patience and Improving” posts takes a look at the time I spent onstage while going to school at the Institute of Hawaiian Music.
