The Na Hoku Hanohano Awards

It was a great show (the Na Hoku Hanohano Awards are like the Hawaiian Grammys)! I’m not sure whether or not a video of the broadcast will be available for viewing, so if you missed out, the big ‘ukulele news was that:

Jake Shimabukuro won two Hokus for:

  • Instrumental Album of the Year with his “Live” album and also,
  • Entertainer of the Year (voted by the public)

He backed up several artists and then played a solo in the outro jam with Kenny Loggins, Henry Kapono, Barry Flanagan, and others.
