Washington to California Trip

…And I’m back! Wow. My family and I had such a great time cruising from Seattle to the Bay Area on our two week trip. We started on the north side in Seattle, which is a really happy and hip city. Then we meandered down into Oregon to visit family and see a friend in Ashland. From there we began a very scenic drive down the California coast through the redwoods and landed (of all places) in Garberville. Then we left early the next morning and drove to Sonoma county. Here are some photos like I promised. Not many are ‘ukulele related, but we did end up seeing some world-class buskers at the Pike Place market in Seattle.

"Wall of Guitars" at the Experience Music Project. Can you spot the 'ukulele?

The Space Needle. This is Seattle after all...

Pike Place market was my favorite part of Seattle

Pike Place buskers, Morrison Boomer. These guys are awesome. They set up camp in a spot with killer acoustics and jammed their brains out.

This guy didn't play too well, but he was pretty handy with the hula hoops

See what I mean?

His "50% off all tips" sign was classic

I don't know who this guy was or where he was going, but with his coffee and a gold suit I'm sure he could have taken on the world

Into the redwoods...

They were huge to say the least

And there were elk!

A natural spotlight

But the trees! Boy, they were big!
