Easy Ukulele Tabs – Picking For Beginners

Learning to pick on your ukulele is usually a bit of a jump into the deep end, right? These easy ukulele tabs will make it a little less scary.

You get used to strumming chords and then: BAM-O! All your hard work goes out the window.

The good news is that easy ukulele tabs are available. Better yet, picking the notes of a melody is often easier and more recognizable than strumming a song.

Due to the success of 30 Easy Ukulele Songs, I figured I’d put together a similar list with useful links for those ukulele players looking for the picking counterpart.

The very easiest TABs I’ve ever created are found in my ebook, Step-By-Step: Single String Ukulele Picking. Throughout the entire book, you’ll learn to play on only one string. This means the TABs are shown as a single line!

An absolute beginner’s guide to picking melody on the ukulele.

Most of the simple ukulele tabs found here are picking arrangements of the song’s melody. Some use some chord strums to fill out the sound around the single notes – called “solo fingerpicking arrangements.” These are marked and are the hardest pieces here. I tried to create each so that it fits in an easy range on the instrument and has the simplest fingering possible.

Some of these tabs, while “easy,” are harder than others. If you’re a total newbie, try Amazing Grace or Happy Birthday.
