Right Hand Technique for ‘Ukulele: A Detailed Guide to Strumming & Picking

Samba Pa Ti by Santana ʻUkulele Tab

Samba Pa Ti from Santana’s Abraxas album and is a seriously fine specimen of instrumental composing.

I tabbed all of the main melody parts but left the solo at the end alone. To get the feel right you’d have to figure it out yourself and put in the time.

It’s a pretty straightforward song. The hardest part are the double bends which take some practice. You can always play just the melody note, but if you can do the double stops, they sound awesome.

Brittni Paiva recorded this on her album, Brittni, and had the chance to perform the song with Carlos when he came to Honolulu years ago.

I’m an ‘ukulele artist from Honoka’a, Hawai’i, where I run this site from a little plantation house in the jungle. I’ve taught workshops internationally, made Herb Ohta Jr. laugh until he cried, and once borrowed a uke to jam with HAPA onstage in my boardshorts. More about me
