Improvisation Basics Workshop REPLAY

A 1-hour replay of a Zoom workshop on how to improvise/solo/paʻani, plus 1/2 hour Q&A.

What you’ll learn:

Improvising is when you create something musical on the fly. A featured solo section in a song often comes to mind, but an improvisation can also be as simple as hearing music in your head and figuring out how to play it on your ukulele.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to begin generating freeform musical ideas in your mind and how to bring them into the world with your uke.

We’ll focus on some exercises that take the enormity of endless possibilities and narrow them down to be bite sized. This will help you to avoid being overwhelmed and to create some simple ideas that will begin your toolbox of favorite musical moves.

This workshop will include a couple of backing tracks that you can use to implement and grow the concepts we cover with your own improvisations.
